“El Marsa Tetnafes Fenn”: Celebrating the Cultural Spirit of La Marsa on June 25-26

The event titled “El Marsa Tetnafes Fenn” is scheduled to take place on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 10:30 AM to 10:30 PM. The festivities will unfold across the vibrant streets of La Marsa, including locations such as Saf Saf, Agora, Parc Essaada, in front of Kobet el Ahwa, and near Zéphyr.

This celebration is conceived by a passionate group of music enthusiasts, the Association for the Preservation of La Marsa (ASVM), in collaboration with the Tunisian Red Crescent’s local committee, as well as the La Marsa municipality. In honor of La Marsa’s 110th anniversary, they are organizing a dynamic music event designed to highlight street performances and promote free public access to cultural activities.

Over a hundred professional and amateur artists have responded enthusiastically to this initiative, preparing to showcase an eclectic mix of performances spanning music, dance, and street art. Spectators can look forward to experiencing a diverse array of artistic expressions.

Musicians influenced by Jazz, Rock, Rap, Hip Hop, traditional Tunisian music, and Reggae will fill the air with vibrancy, turning La Marsa’s iconic locations—the Corniche, the pedestrian street of 20 Mars, Saf Saf, Agora, and others—into pulsating hubs of cultural energy.

Leading up to the festivities, on Saturday, June 25, a gathering will be held at the Fadhel Ben Achour Center in La Marsa. This event will bring together artists and cultural experts to discuss opportunities and future prospects for the arts and culture scene in Tunisia.

The organizing collective behind “El Marsa Tetnafes Fenn” hopes that this inaugural celebration will become an annual event, expanding to other regions and helping to highlight Tunisia’s rich cultural heritage. Their goal is to foster greater appreciation and promotion of Tunisian cultural treasures through vibrant street performances and community engagement.
