The platform for electronic invoicing has recorded the receipt of about 1.8 million invoices, of which nearly 37,000 have been settled, announced the Minister of Finance, Michket Slama Khaldi, during a joint session of the Finance Commissions of the Assembly of the Representatives of the People (ARP) and the National Council of Regions and Districts, held this Tuesday.
Presenting the budget proposal for the Finance mission for the year 2027, the minister specified that the establishment of this platform is part of the digital transformation projects undertaken by her department. These initiatives aim to modernize financial transactions, strengthen the transparency of economic operations and improve their monitoring.
In this context, the ministry is also working on developing information systems, interconnecting databases and facilitating the automated exchange of information between the different structures. These measures should allow for improved data quality made available to the administration, while facilitating control and management operations.
The ongoing digital projects also involve the development of remote payment services and the digitization of tax declarations, as well as the implementation of a unified tax account, whose operation is planned to commence in the first quarter of 2027.
This account will allow taxpayers to consult their files and their tax situation, to track their obligations and to carry out several procedures related to declarations and remote payments.
The Minister of Finance finally stressed that digital transformation is not limited to the digitization of existing procedures. It also rests on the interconnection of computer systems of the various administrations and public institutions, in order to facilitate data sharing, improve service quality and accelerate the processing of cases.
