Ministry of the Interior: Arrests Made in Attack on Africans

Written by: Adel Khelifi on June 7, 2026

The Ministry of the Interior announced on Friday evening that following the dissemination of a video documenting an attack carried out by criminals against sub-Saharan Africans, the security services, after a thorough investigation, have identified and arrested the perpetrators, although no formal complaint has been filed.

The investigation revealed that the video, originating from two different continents, shows an incident that occurred five years ago. The inquiry is ongoing to determine the exact circumstances of the incident and the reasons for its broadcast at that specific moment, given the time that has elapsed since the events.

Despite attempts to distort and exploit the video, the Tunisian state is committed to safeguarding the rights and dignity of all persons on its territory and to enforcing the law against offenders, reaffirming its commitment to a humanitarian approach to irregular migration and its willingness to find urgent solutions to allow all illegal migrants to return voluntarily to their country in the best possible conditions
