In response to a written question addressed by the deputy to the Assembly of the Representatives of the People for the Raoued 2 constituency, Halim Boussema, concerning the procurement market of 462 Chinese buses, the Ministry of Transport indicated that 20% of the contractual quantities have been activated by the majority of the companies, in accordance with the conditions provided by the contract.

The total number of buses thus amounts to 462 buses, distributed as follows: 296 buses for the benefit of the regional transport companies, 118 buses for the Tunis Transport Company and 48 buses for the National Interurban Transport Company.

The ministry added that the overall estimated value of the market stood at 176.808 million Tunisian dinars excluding taxes. After the activation of the 20% tranche, this value rose to approximately 193.283 million Tunisian dinars excluding taxes.

The market covers all expenses and charges related to importation and delivery. It also includes, in the contractual price, a contractual guarantee, technical support and after-sales services, as well as training for technical cadres, drivers and maintenance staff. It also provides for the supply of diagnostic equipment and an initial stock of spare parts necessary for operation and maintenance.
