The economic control teams under the Regional Directorate of Trade in Nabeul seized, on Saturday, 8,832 bottles of mineral water during inspection operations carried out in the El Mida delegation, with the participation of units of the Municipal Guard.

Among the quantities seized, 5,928 bottles were found in a depot selling construction materials, said the regional director of commerce, Sihem Mabrouk, in a statement to TAP News Agency.

Sihem Mabrouk specified that the intensive control operations focused on the distribution circuits of mineral water in the El Mida region.

She noted that the bottles discovered in the depot of construction materials had been concealed in order to practice the withholding of goods and speculation, and to cause a shortage of the product on the market.

The official added that the Nabeul economic control team will complete the necessary procedures for depositing the financial value of the seized products with the Tunisian Public Treasury.

An economic investigation report will also be drawn up against the offender for monopolistic and speculative practices.
