Following repeated and unplanned power outages, which caused significant material losses to thousands of businesses of all sizes, the National Organization of Entrepreneurs announced the creation of a legal team composed of lawyers and legal experts.
This team will be tasked with providing legal support to the affected businesses, helping them to assemble their files, gather the necessary supporting documents, and initiate the legal procedures required to assert their rights and attempt to obtain the compensation provided by current legislation.
The organization also specified that after reviewing the cases, it will take the legal measures it deems appropriate before the competent judicial and administrative authorities, in order to defend the rights of the affected businesses and to preserve the continuity of their activities. It has moreover called on public authorities to intervene urgently and to adopt several concrete measures.
It has also stressed the need to give priority, in terms of energy supply, to industrial zones and production companies, in order to preserve the continuity of economic activity and avoid losses likely to result from a production stoppage.
The organization has additionally called for the creation of a national crisis cell bringing together the various concerned structures and professional organizations. This cell would be responsible for ensuring ongoing monitoring of the situation and guaranteeing coordination among the different stakeholders.
In the same vein, it called for opening a procedure to declare the damages suffered by businesses, by adopting transparent mechanisms to assess and record these losses, while studying the implementation of legal and financial provisions intended to compensate companies whose damage has been established.
It also emphasized the importance of accelerating renewable energy projects and enabling businesses to invest in this sector, through the establishment of the necessary incentives and the simplification of administrative procedures.
Finally, the organization stressed the need to develop a comprehensive national strategy aimed at strengthening energy security, ensuring the continuity of electricity supply, and preventing such crises from happening again in the future.
