Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Series Sets the Standard for an AI Phone as a True AI Companion

Pioneer of the Multimodal Era with Our Most Contextual and Personalized Mobile Experience

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced its Galaxy S25 Ultra, Galaxy S25+ and Galaxy S25, marking a new milestone as a true AI companion with our most natural and contextual mobile experiences to date. Equipped with multimodal AI agents, the Galaxy S25 kicks off Samsung’s vision to transform how users interact with their phones and the world around them. A Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy platform, a first of its kind, delivers greater on‑device processing power for Galaxy AI and broader reach and control of the camera with the new generation ProVisual Engine from Galaxy.

“The greatest innovations reflect their users, so we’ve evolved Galaxy AI to let everyone interact with their devices in a fluid and natural way, while ensuring data privacy,” said TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile eXperience at Samsung Electronics. “The Galaxy S25 series paves the way for an AI‑based operating system that will radically change our relationship with technology, but also our daily habits.”

Our most intuitive and easiest mobile interactions yet

With One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 series becomes a true AI companion that understands your needs and preferences and offers personalized AI experiences while respecting your privacy at every moment. It marks the starting point of a shared vision with Google to reimagine Android with AI at its core, bringing together developers and partners from around the world.

The multimodal AI agents empower the Galaxy S25 to interpret text, speech, images, and videos for interactions that feel natural. Google’s Circle to Search updates make on-screen search more useful, faster, and contextual. Circle to Search now quickly recognizes phone numbers, emails, and URLs on your screen, letting you call, email, or visit a website with a simple tap.

With the Galaxy S25, you can also perform actionable searches with contextual suggestions for what to do next. In addition, the Galaxy S25 enables seamless app-to-app transitions for quick follow‑ups, such as sharing a GIF or recording event details.

The Galaxy S25 also marks progress in natural language understanding, making everyday interactions easier. On simple request, you can intuitively locate a specific photo in Gallery or adjust the display’s font size in Settings.

Just press and hold the side button to activate Gemini and interact seamlessly with Samsung and Google apps, as well as certain third‑party apps such as Spotify. This allows you to check the schedule for your favorite sports team and add it to Samsung Calendar with a single voice command.

Extensions of Galaxy AI tools for communication, productivity, and creativity reinforce these intuitive interactions. The Galaxy S25 organizes calls with Call Transcript and summaries. Writing Assist features, such as summarizing content or automatically formatting notes, can be activated where text can be selected, without switching between apps. As for Drawing Assist, it offers new ways to bring ideas to life through combinations of sketches, text, or images.

Hyper‑personalized experiences with privacy protection

In the AI era, personalization goes hand in hand with privacy. On the Galaxy S25, the Personal Data Engine powers personalized AI experiences by securely analyzing your data on‑device to deliver experiences tailored to your preferences and daily habits. These insights enable features such as locating a past photo in Gallery using natural language, or being guided throughout the day by Now Brief, which proactively suggests accessible options via the Now Bar on the lock screen. All personalized data remains private and safeguarded by Knox Vault. Coupled with enhanced on‑device processing, this technology delivers a powerful and secure AI experience unique to Samsung Galaxy.

The Galaxy S25 also introduces post‑quantum cryptography to protect personal data against emerging threats as quantum computing evolves.

Privacy, requiring comprehensive security, is foundational, and One UI 7 lays this groundwork by adding an extra, fortified layer of device security designed for the AI era and hyperconnectivity. The updates also include maximum‑restriction settings, enhanced anti‑theft protections, and a new Knox Matrix dashboard to verify security across a connected ecosystem of devices.

Galaxy’s most powerful performance yet

The Galaxy S25 line is powered by the Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy. Thanks to Galaxy’s unique customizations, it represents the most capable processor ever fitted to the Galaxy S series. Compared with the previous generation, it delivers up to 40% higher NPU performance, 37% more CPU performance, and 30% more GPU performance. The S25 devices can thus handle more native AI experiences, including AI tasks previously cloud‑based, such as Generative Edit.

Samsung and Qualcomm Technologies collaborated to tailor the Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy. The Galaxy S25 series features advanced AI image processing and efficient ProScaler to improve image upscaling quality by up to 40%, while integrating Samsung’s on‑chip Digital Natural Image engine (mDNIe) via Galaxy IP to enable greater display energy efficiency.

Snapdragon® 8 Elite for Galaxy also includes Vulkan Engine and improved Ray Tracing for smoother, more realistic mobile gaming.

Heavy device use and AI processing are supported by a redesigned cooling architecture, including a vapor chamber 40% larger and a bespoke thermal interface material (TIM) that further enhances thermal efficiency.

A professional‑grade creation

The Galaxy S25 series delivers ultra‑detailed photography at all distances thanks to high‑resolution sensors and the ProVisual engine, setting a new standard for mobile photography. With a new 50MP ultra‑wide sensor (up from 12MP previously), the Galaxy S25 Ultra offers exceptional clarity and brightness.

HDR 10‑bit recording is now the default, delivering colors four times richer than 8‑bit. The Galaxy S25 can capture low‑light video with unprecedented sharpness. Powered by a strong processor, the S25 analyzes motion and timing to reduce noise more effectively, enabling the detection of both moving and static objects with greater accuracy for sharper, more precise images in all conditions.

In addition, the Galaxy S25 introduces a suite of tools once reserved for specialized software, now accessible to everyone for advanced photo and video editing. Audio Eraser makes it easier to remove unwanted noise from videos by isolating sound categories (voice, music, wind, nature, crowd, and noise).

For a mobile‑level professional experience, the Galaxy S25 introduces depth‑of‑field control with Virtual Aperture, integrated into Expert RAW. Finally, this model unlocks cinematic creativity with Galaxy Log, offering precise color grading options for more professional video production.

Portrait Studio has also been enhanced, enabling users to create personalized avatars with more lifelike facial expressions. Filters introduces new analog‑style looks that give photos and videos a filmic aesthetic.

A rugged design aligned with a more circular approach

The Galaxy S25 series builds on the Galaxy “Essential Design,” rooted in simple, impactful, and emotive elements. The Galaxy S25 Ultra refines this essence into the thinnest, lightest, and most durable Galaxy S line to date, with rounded edges for a comfortable grip that complements the series’ aesthetic.

This model stands out with its powerful titanium and the new Corning® Gorilla® Armor 2, a breakthrough material tougher than glass. It combines Corning’s ceramic glass with an exclusive anti‑reflective surface treatment, delivering advanced drop protection as well as an anti‑reflective finish and scratch resistance.

The metal chassis introduces recycled‑reliable aluminum for the first time.

Moreover, while each device features at least 50% recycled cobalt for its battery, the Galaxy S25 will be the first Galaxy smartphone to use batteries made from recycled cobalt sourced from older Galaxy devices or discarded batteries during production. To achieve this, Samsung follows a multi‑step process with its partners, from extracting cobalt from used batteries to reusing the recycled cobalt in Galaxy S25 batteries.
With seven generations of OS updates and seven years of security updates, this lineup delivers reliable and optimized performance for a longer lifespan.
