The Minister of Education, Noureddine Nouri, stated on Tuesday, during a visit to several schools in the Sfax governorate, that the ministry was continuing its efforts to create new establishments, expand certain existing structures and rehabilitate the oldest schools.
The objective, according to the minister, is to improve educational infrastructures so that they meet current requirements and allow schools to carry out their mission under better conditions.
A normal start to the school year in Sfax
In a statement given to the correspondent of Tunisia Numérique in Sfax, Noureddine Nouri indicated that the school start was proceeding normally in the governorate.
He noted that the situation was broadly under control both at the level of schools and at the level of school transport.
The minister, however, stressed that the department intervened every time it proved necessary in order to resolve difficulties that might arise on the ground.
New establishments and expansions planned
Noureddine Nouri also indicated that the ministry was working on the creation of new schools.
These projects should be accompanied by expansion operations in several existing structures, in order to improve their capacity to accommodate students and their operating conditions.
Rehabilitating the oldest establishments
The minister also emphasized the need to continue interventions aimed at rehabilitating older establishments and improving their infrastructure.
These operations should allow the schools concerned to better respond to current needs and to welcome students and teaching staff in more suitable conditions.
A visit to monitor the start of the school year on the ground
Noureddine Nouri explained that his visit to the Sfax governorate aimed to monitor the progress of the school year and to identify any difficulties encountered in the visited establishments.
The objective, he said, is to ensure a quick intervention when an issue requires action by the ministry’s services.
