The international mobility group SIXT announces its presence in Tunisia through a new franchise partnership with Tunifleet Car Rental, a company created jointly by the Tunisian groups Alliance One Holding and Voyages 2000.
This arrival allows SIXT to immediately launch its car rental services on the Tunisian market and marks a new step in the group’s African expansion.
Three airports at launch
SIXT will initially be present at three major Tunisian airports:
- Tunis-Carthage International Airport
- Monastir Habib Bourguiba International Airport
- Enfidha-Hammamet International Airport
A presence at Djerba-Zarzis International Airport is also announced from 2027.
The network should then be gradually expanded with city-center agencies in several tourist and economic destinations, notably Sousse, Hammamet, Mahdia and Sfax, as well as in other coastal localities.
Short-term rental, leasing and chauffeur services
The offering announced in Tunisia will not be limited to traditional car rental.
SIXT plans to offer short- and long-term rental, rental of utility vehicles and trucks, chauffeur services as well as automotive leasing.
The fleet will cover several categories, ranging from compact cars and sedans to SUVs, premium vehicles and commercial vehicles.
Tunifleet, a partnership between two Tunisian groups
Tunifleet Car Rental is a joint venture between Alliance One Holding and Voyages 2000 S.A., created to exclusively operate the SIXT franchise in Tunisia.
Alliance One Holding is a Tunisian family group founded in 1947. It comprises about 35 companies and more than 3,500 employees, with activities in chemical industry, tourism, distribution and services.
Voyages 2000, founded in 1964, has for its part more than 60 years of experience in tourism. The group is active in hospitality, travel agencies, events and tourist transfers. It operates more than 10 hotels and around 1,500 employees.
The partners’ stated objective is to progressively build a national network of premium car rental, intended for both tourists and Tunisian clients and businesses.
A arrival driven by the growth of Tunisian tourism
SIXT notably justifies its arrival by the recent dynamics of Tunisian tourism.
According to the figures cited in the press release, Tunisia welcomed more than 11 million international visitors in 2025, surpassing this threshold for the first time.
Tourism revenues reached a record of 8.097 billion dinars, or a rise of 6.5% compared with 2024.
France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom together accounted for more than 2.5 million arrivals.
For SIXT, this tourism growth increases the potential of the Tunisian market, notably for mobility services aimed at international visitors and business clients.
SIXT continues its international expansion
With its arrival in Tunisia, SIXT continues an accelerated international expansion strategy.
The group had entered five new markets in Latin America and the Caribbean in 2025, after launching its activities in South Africa and Namibia in 2024.
SIXT today has a global fleet of more than 350,000 vehicles and a presence in more than 100 countries.
The German group, listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange since 1986, posted in 2025 a consolidated revenue of 4.28 billion euros and a pre-tax profit of 400.5 million euros.
With Tunisia, SIXT thus reinforces its presence in North Africa in a market where tourism rebound creates new opportunities for car rental, professional transport and mobility services.
