The Minister of Health, Mustapha Ferjani, reviewed this Monday with the Spanish ambassador to Tunisia, Isidro Antonio González Afonso, the prospects for developing health cooperation between the two countries, notably in the fields of digital health, the pharmaceutical industry, and organ transplantation.

According to a statement published Monday evening by the Ministry of Health, the meeting particularly focused on the importance of developing the digital hospital in improving healthcare provision, as well as the implementation of the electronic medical record.

The discussions also addressed partnership prospects in drug production, scientific research, and cooperation with the Tunisian Society of Pharmaceutical Industries (SIPHAT).

The two parties also stressed the importance of sharing expertise in organ transplantation and maternal and child health. Addiction prevention, bringing health services closer to inner and rural regions, and the “One Health” approach, which links human, animal and environmental health, were also among the topics discussed.

Following this meeting, the two sides emphasized the need to develop an action plan to translate identified priorities into concrete projects that meet the needs of citizens.
