The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Mohamed Ali Nafti, held this Wednesday a telephone conversation with the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the sister republic of Turkmenistan, Rachid Meredov.
According to a statement issued by the ministry in the evening, the exchange focused on ways to consolidate the friendly relations between the two countries, as well as on mechanisms capable of reinforcing the various dimensions of bilateral cooperation, notably in the economic sphere, through speeding up the pace of trade exchanges, participation in trade fairs organized in both countries, exchanges of visits by business delegations, and the highlighting of investment opportunities offered in several sectors.
The conversation also underscored the importance of developing cooperation between Tunisia and Turkmenistan in the cultural and tourist sectors.
On this occasion, the two ministers stressed the need to finalize procedures to enrich the legal framework governing the cooperation relations between the two countries in several areas of common interest, in order to broaden its prospects and diversify it into new fields.
The meeting also addressed the main regional and international current issues. The two parties reaffirmed their willingness to continue coordination and consultation within the framework of multilateral action mechanisms, notably within the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in order to contribute to supporting efforts aimed at strengthening the foundations of security and peace at regional and international levels.
