The General Directorate of Taxes has reminded that the final deadline for filing the annual income tax return for individuals earning profits from the agricultural and fishing operations is set on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.
A legal deadline, and not a single filing date
The tax administration specifies that this date corresponds to the last day of the legal deadline provided for filing tax declarations.
It therefore does not constitute the only day on which taxpayers may complete this formal procedure. Declarations can be filed on days prior to the due date.
The General Directorate of Taxes also recommends not waiting until the last day in order to avoid the congestion of the tax revenue offices as well as the pressure on the IT system.
No penalty if the deadline falls on a Sunday or a public holiday
The administration also recalls that when the last day scheduled for filing a tax return coincides with a Sunday or a public holiday, the taxpayer may submit their filing on the following day.
In this case, no late filing penalty is applied.
People concerned by income from agricultural and fishing activities are therefore invited to regularize their situation within the legal deadlines and, as much as possible, before the due date of August 26, 2026.
