The preparations for the 58th edition of the Douz International Sahara Festival have officially begun with the holding of an initial meeting devoted to organizing this cultural and heritage event, scheduled from the 19 to 22 December 2026.
This preliminary meeting brought together members of the organizing committee and the various commissions charged with preparing the festival.
Anticipating the Organization of the Event
The meeting aimed to initiate preparations early and to coordinate the different stages of organization, in order to ensure the smooth running of this new edition and to strengthen the festival’s reach.
Participants reviewed several files related to the initial preparations. They specifically defined the priorities requiring monitoring over the coming months.
Distribution of Duties Among the Commissions
The meeting also allowed distributing tasks and responsibilities among the various commissions, while specifying their areas of intervention as well as coordination mechanisms and joint working arrangements.
The objective is to establish an organization based on regular monitoring and complementarity among the different stakeholders involved in the event’s preparation.
Proposals to Develop the 58th Edition
Participants also presented several proposals and ideas intended to evolve this edition and enrich its content.
A working methodology based on continuous coordination, monitoring of preparations, and the complementarity of roles among the various actors was adopted.
The 58th edition of the Douz International Sahara Festival will take place from 19 to 22 December 2026.
