A delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Guinea and the Center for Research in Industrial Technologies conducted, from September 1 to 4, 2026, a visit to the Technical Center for Mechanical and Electrical Industries in Tunisia.
This study visit was devoted to developing technical capacities and improving the support provided to industrial companies.
Experience exchange around industrial SMEs
In a statement issued on Monday, the Technical Center for Mechanical and Electrical Industries indicated that the visit had allowed the two parties to exchange experiences and compare their practices around a common challenge: improving the support for industrial companies in their development.
The mission benefited from the support of the African Development Bank (AfDB), within the framework of a project to support industrial development and the resilience of small and medium-sized enterprises.
The objective is to embed this cooperation in the long term and to contribute, alongside the Guinean Center for Research in Industrial Technologies, to strengthening its capacities and developing services more closely tailored to the needs of companies in Guinea.
Testing, metrology and expertise on the program
During the visit, the Guinean delegation was able to discover the Tunisian center’s technical capacities, particularly in the fields of testing, metrology and expertise.
The discussions also focused on the methods and tools enabling support for small and medium-sized enterprises in their investment and modernization projects, as well as in improving their performance.
Governance and technical assistance
Institutionally, the exchanges allowed presenting the experience of the Technical Center for Mechanical and Electrical Industries in terms of governance, service organization, technical assistance to enterprises, and skills development.
These various components constitute levers to strengthen the capacities of support structures and to offer manufacturers services that more closely meet their needs.
South-South cooperation focused on industry
The Technical Center for Mechanical and Electrical Industries reaffirmed its willingness to contribute to this South-South cooperation dynamic.
It believes that industrial development in Africa also depends on sharing competencies, technologies and experiences among the continent’s countries.
