Tunisia will host, on May 5 and 6 this year, the Healthcare IT Forum, the first national event dedicated to the exchange of expertise and to strengthening partnerships among the various actors of the health and digital ecosystems.

This event is organized under the aegis of the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with its IT Center, the German International Cooperation Agency, a company specialized in organizing technological events, and a Tunisian private radio station specializing in economic issues.

In a statement published on its official Facebook page, the IT Center indicated that its participation in this forum is part of supporting the digital transformation process of the health sector, through presenting the digital projects developed and highlighting the achievements accomplished.

The forum is expected to see strong participation from the various actors of the health and digital sectors, notably public and private institutions, information technology experts, providers of digital solutions, representatives of the pharmaceutical industry and the medical imaging sector, as well as specialists in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, according to the event’s official website.

The program of the first day will be devoted to several themes, including opportunities and challenges related to the uses of artificial intelligence in the medical field, notably in medical imaging, AI applications in radiology and the issues they raise, the securing of hospital systems against cyber threats, as well as the strengthening of partnership opportunities with the actors of the health and digital ecosystems at national and international levels.

The second day will, for its part, focus on other axes related to cybersecurity in the pharmaceutical industry, as well as the question of compliance with regulatory standards. The forum will also address the issues relating to the ability to transform technological innovation into tangible impact within health facilities and other structures.
