In Tunisia, tourism activity continued to progress and continued to evolve favorably.

Tourist receipts reached as of the current 20th of the month an amount of 6,093.3 million dinars, or about 2 billion dollars according to the monetary and financial indicators published this Thursday by the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT).

These tourist receipts recorded a rise of 4.7%, thus increasing from 5,820.5 million dinars on 20 September 2025 to 6,093.3 million dinars on 20 September 2026.

Recently, the Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts indicated that the ministry has put in place a program aimed at valorizing the cultural heritage of the different regions according to an approach based on the principle “one region, one product.” The objective is to transform local assets into products, experiences and tourist circuits capable of being marketed and competitive.

The challenge is mainly to measure the tangible impact of tourism on the economy and the regions, through foreign currency earnings, investment and job creation.

As a reminder, Tunisia has been designated the Arab Tourism Capital 2027, a specific program has been developed with the Union of Radios of the Arab States to promote the various regions, their particularities and their tourist circuits.

The campaign notably involves the use of digital platforms, digital tourism startups, content creators, journalists and artists in order to strengthen the visibility of the Tunisian destination.
