The General Legislation Committee of the People’s Representatives Assembly completed, in a session held on Wednesday, the adoption of all articles of the organic bill concerning the organization of the profession of tax advisor (No. 13/2023), after having approved Articles 54 to 74, according to a Parliament press release published Thursday, October 8, 2026.
The articles adopted mainly concern disciplinary procedures and the bodies responsible for them, for both individuals and professional firms.
They also include a series of transitional provisions relating to procedures and the registration deadlines for practicing tax advisers, in accordance with Law No. 34 of 1960 relating to the licensing of tax advisers, currently in force.
These provisions also set conditions in favor of new candidates applying for registration on the first roster of the Tax Advisers Board. According to the bill, the members of this body will be appointed by decree issued by the minister responsible for Finance, after the entry into force of the text.
The vote on the entire text postponed
At the end of the session, the commission decided to postpone the vote on the bill in its entirety, the time to finalize the arrangement of its articles in light of the amendments introduced and to improve the drafting of certain provisions.
The session took place in the presence of the commission’s vice-president, Youssef Toumi, and several of its members, according to the communiqué.
The commission’s work was to continue this Thursday to examine the other questions related to this bill.
