The World Bank, in cooperation with the Tunisian government, announced an additional US$90 million in funding to support the project to strengthen social development and improve the livelihoods of the country’s most vulnerable groups.
This financing comes on the basis of the results achieved by the initial project, which had a cost of US$700 million and was implemented over a period of five years.
This project enabled exceptional cash transfers to more than 895,000 households to address the impacts of the health crisis.
It also contributed to expanding the Amen Social program to more than 386,000 households, in addition to the provision of family allowances benefiting more than 150,000 children under five years old.
