Sfax hosted a meeting dedicated to young entrepreneurs and leaders of new companies, placed under the sign of innovation and openness to international markets. Organized around the idea that “innovation today makes tomorrow’s success,” this event brought together economic actors, project leaders and company executives around the challenges related to modernization, competitiveness and exportation.
In a space that initially seemed limited, exchanges quickly grew in scope thanks to the richness of the ideas presented and the ambition of the participants. The meeting thus constituted a framework for dialogue and reflection on the means to strengthen the place of the Tunisian product in an increasingly competitive economic environment.
A meeting dedicated to young leaders
This initiative is led by the Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry, under the leadership of its Director General, Hichem Loumi. According to him, this first meeting is mainly aimed at young business leaders, especially those active in the fields of creation, innovation and the development of new products.
The proceedings were structured around workshops devoted to several topics deemed priorities, including the Tunisian product, artificial intelligence, modernization and upgrading of businesses. The aim is to go beyond general observations to address the concrete difficulties that hinder the competitiveness of the local product.
Innovation as a lever of competitiveness
The meeting highlighted the importance of innovation as an essential tool to strengthen the presence of Tunisian companies in markets. In a context marked by digital transformation and the rapid evolution of economic models, innovation is presented as a decisive factor to gain visibility, improve product quality and access new outlets.
It is also linked to several strategic dimensions, notably standards, registration, industrial and intellectual property, as well as adaptation to the demands of the digital economy. For the organizers, these elements have become indispensable for any company wishing to position itself sustainably in international markets.
A momentum that is set to continue
The Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry does not intend to limit this initiative to a single meeting. It plans to make it the starting point for a series of events bringing together the technological hub, the university, economic institutions, centers of research specialized in digital technology and modern industries, as well as the various actors in Tunisia’s innovation ecosystem.
This approach is based on the idea that innovation cannot be carried by a single actor, but requires a collective mobilization involving businesses, support structures, researchers, public institutions and economic partners.
A bridge between Tunisian businesses and foreign markets
The Chamber also intends to play a role in opening Tunisian companies to their international environment. This orientation passes through the development of bridges with foreign partners, through diplomatic, legal and institutional channels.
The Chamber’s delegations have already worked on these axes to strengthen economic relations with the outside world and target new markets for Tunisian exports. The aim is to promote commercial transactions capable of generating foreign exchange and to open up prospects beyond the Mediterranean area.
Betting on youth to build the future
By addressing young leaders, the Sfax Chamber of Commerce and Industry hopes to accompany a generation set to play a central role in the economic transformation. These young entrepreneurs are seen as an essential lever to build companies able to adapt to market realities and incorporate technological evolutions.
The stated bet is clear: to make Sfax a hub of innovation capable of supporting a competitive Tunisian product, open to the world and able to compete with major economies. In this perspective, the meeting appears as a starting point for a broader dynamic, based on innovation, investment and internationalization.
