The Governorate of Zaghouan announced on its official page that, as part of on-the-ground monitoring of public projects and efforts to accelerate their completion, the Governor of Zaghouan, Karim Baranji, inspected on Tuesday morning, September 8, 2026, the progress of the project to reinforce National Route 3 linking the governorates of Zaghouan and Ben Arous.
On this occasion, he inquired about the progress of the works as well as the level of completion of the different components of the project.
The construction site spans 8 kilometers, from kilometer point 20 to kilometer point 28. It aims to reinforce the roadway and improve its condition, in order to enhance user safety and to smooth traffic flow.
The project notably includes the construction of hydraulic works intended for the drainage of rainwater over a length of 679 meters, as well as the construction of open reinforced concrete gutters on 7,570 meters.
The works also include the paving of the roadway with bituminous concrete, the strengthening of the shoulders with a two-layer surface coating, the shaping of waterways, as well as the installation of horizontal and vertical signage and road safety equipment.
According to the same source, the governor of Zaghouan stressed the need to accelerate the pace of the works, while respecting technical standards and contractual deadlines. He also highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring of the different stages of the project and the search for solutions to the difficulties encountered.
