Tunis, January 9, 2026 – TUNIFERT, a subsidiary of the Groupe SEPCM, the Tunisian leader in crop protection, fertilizers, seeds, and technical assistance to farmers, announces the signing of a strategic partnership with Seabex, a pioneer in AI-based agricultural solutions.
Through this partnership, TUNIFERT and the SEPCM Group publicly affirm their commitment to Tunisian food sovereignty, placing innovation, data, and farmer support at the heart of the transformation of the grain sector.
This partnership marks a first in Tunisia in the field of large crops, by combining high-performing local seeds, on-the-ground agronomic expertise, and state-of-the-art artificial intelligence, in order to digitalize the entire cereal value chain, from the farm plot to the strategic management of the sector.
The solutions from Seabex will be gradually deployed on thousands of hectares, mainly in durum wheat, a strategic crop for the country. The objective is to build a cereal sector that is more productive, more resilient and more autonomous, capable of sustainably addressing Tunisia’s climatic, economic, and food challenges.
This partnership will notably enable:
- To sustainably strengthen the capacities of partner farmers, thanks to AI-based decision-support tools, adapted to local realities
- To optimize yields and productivity through advanced agronomic analyses and better risk anticipation
- To improve the management of strategic resources (water, fertilization, inputs) and reduce waste in a context of increasing water stress
- To increase resilience to climatic and phytosanitary hazards, by securing technical itineraries
- To structure a massive and contextualized agronomic database, a real strategic asset for the sector
- To contribute to a sustainable cereal self-sufficiency, a key pillar of national food sovereignty
“This partnership with SEABEX MEA strengthens the Tunisian cereal sector thanks to AI tools that enable risk anticipation, optimization of farming interventions, and sustained yield improvements across thousands of hectares,” emphasizes Imène Ben Jemia, CEO of TUNIFERT.
“As the Tunisian leader in the agricultural sector, the SEPCM Group invests in innovative solutions to modernize farming and to sustainably reinforce the cereal value chain. This partnership perfectly illustrates our innovation-driven DNA and our commitment to national food sovereignty,” adds Hedi Doghri, CEO of the SEPCM Group.
“This partnership with TUNIFERT and the SEPCM Group illustrates a strategic, forward-looking vision for the future of Tunisian agriculture. By placing artificial intelligence and data at the heart of the cereal value chain, we contribute to sustainably strengthening the country’s food sovereignty, securing national production, and equipping farmers and sector players with modern, data-driven decision-making tools based on reliable and contextualized information,” explains Taher Mestiri, President of SEABEX.
“Proud of this partnership, the real challenge is not merely to equip the plot with tools, but to structure a cereal value chain capable of steering, planning, and making collective decisions based on measurable facts. The most lasting transformations in agriculture are often invisible: they begin with data reliability and trust in the decision,” adds Amira Cheniour, CEO of Seabex MEA.
As part of this partnership, TUNIFERT, known for the quality of its services and its seeds selected and adapted to local climatic conditions, will make these technologies available to its network of partner multiplication farmers. This approach aims to raise the technical level of operations, secure agricultural incomes, and promote more sustainable farming practices.
Beyond supporting farmers, this partnership also reflects a forward-looking vision of the SEPCM Group, which opts for digitalization, data, and artificial intelligence to strengthen its strategic capability to steer the Tunisian cereal sector.
The massive aggregation of contextualized agronomic data will improve planning, risk anticipation, and decision-making at the sector level, thus contributing to the country’s resilience and food autonomy.
