Tunisia: Agriculture, Industry and Services Drive Growth in Q4 2025

Data published by the National Institute of Statistics (INS) show that agricultural activities registered, in the fourth quarter of 2025, a sustained improvement in their growth dynamics. Value added thus rose by 12.3% year on year. The contribution of the agricultural sector is estimated at 1.08 percentage points to the GDP growth rate recorded (2.7%).

The results for the fourth quarter of 2025 also show an increase in the volume of value added in the manufacturing industries sector of 4.0%, driven by the improvement in value added in mechanical and electrical industries (7.8%), agro-food industries (6.1%), and the industry of other mineral products (4.2%).

Conversely, the volume of value added in the energy, mining, water, sanitation and waste treatment sector declined by 0.3% in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared to the same period of the previous year, due to the drop in value added from crude oil and natural gas extraction (-13.3%).

Overall, the industrial sector recorded a 3% progression in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared with the corresponding quarter of the previous year, contributing positively by 0.52 percentage points to the growth rate recorded (2.7%). The construction and public works sector (BTP) on its part showed positive growth of 4.1% year on year.

Furthermore, the economic activity of the services sector maintained, in the fourth quarter of 2025, its positive growth rate, contributing 0.88 percentage points to the growth rate recorded (2.7%). The volume of value added there rose by 1.4%, mainly driven by the increase in value added from hotels, restaurants and cafes (7.2%), information and communication technologies (ICT) (3.7%), and transport (0.2%).
