The Ministry of Health announced, this Saturday, the successful completion of a total knee replacement performed by the orthopedic surgery team at Jendouba Regional Hospital on a patient suffering from advanced wear of the knee joint.
The ministry described this operation as a new medical advance in the inland regions of the country.
In a statement, the ministry specified that the intervention was carried out under the supervision of Dr. Seifeddine Mahjoubi, in coordination with the anesthesia and resuscitation team.
The operation, which was successful, allowed this high-precision surgery to be reintroduced within the facility after several years of interruption.
The ministry also emphasized that this achievement reflects the improvement of surgical services in regional health facilities as well as the competence of medical staff, within the framework of the policy aimed at strengthening regional hospitals with modern equipment and developing medical specialties, in order to bring advanced health services closer to citizens.
