The board of directors of the Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies has decided to appoint Imed Hamdi to the position of interim chief executive officer, replacing Hatem Amira, designated president and chief executive officer of a private insurance company.

Imed Hamdi has nearly 30 years of experience in the insurance sector, during which he has held several leadership roles within the Federation. Before his appointment to lead the organization, he held the position of Central Director.

The Tunisian Federation of Insurance Companies is a professional association created to represent all insurance and reinsurance companies operating in Tunisia, numbering 24.

It constitutes an important relay between these financial institutions and public authorities and plays a crucial role in the organization and development of the sector.

Its missions and objectives notably include defending the profession as well as the general interests of its member companies before the supervisory authority and the relevant ministries.

The Federation also undertakes a mission of supervision and organization, through harmonization of technical and legal procedures, facilitating the exchange of information and expertise among its members, as well as the elaboration of forecast data, the collection of information on the insurance sector and the conduct of strategic studies.

It also works to strengthen prevention and awareness by developing training and information programs, and by contributing to the dissemination of the culture of insurance and prevention within society.
