The coach of Club Africain, Maher Kanzari, expressed, in a statement given to Tunisia Numérique, his sincere condolences to the residents of Ben Guerdane following the tragic sinking of a boat that claimed the lives of several youths.
Regarding the match that pitted his team this Sunday against Etoile Sportive de Metlaoui for the opening day of the national championship, which ended with a victory for the Bab Jedid club (1-0), Kanzari stressed that the game had been difficult for both sides.
He added: “It was a season-opening match, played on a very difficult pitch, especially since Etoile de Metlaoui had not lost at home in the league for a year and a half.”
And he continued: “Etoile de Metlaoui is a very respectable team, well organized on the field. They adopted a particularly effective tactical approach, especially in the first half.”
Maher Kanzari concluded: “In the second half, we made the necessary changes and altered our way of playing. Thank God, the result was positive, because a victory is very important to start the championship well.”
