According to official figures, inbound tourism demand (the set of activities undertaken by visitors who are not residents) in Tunisia was estimated at 12 770.7 million TND in 2025.

Furthermore, the breakdown of consumption by products shows that non-specific products (services, including medical, and goods, including shopping purchases) represent 19.4% of the total expenditure.

Accommodation represents 40.3% and food and beverages 12.9%. Expenditures for passenger transport services with national carriers represent a share of 20.2%.

By contrast, Tunisia’s internal tourism expenditure ((the set of tourist activities undertaken by residents)) was estimated at 4 701.1 million TND in 2025.

The breakdown of consumption by individual product shows that non-specific products represent 29% of expenditures, and accommodation 30%. Expenditures related to food and beverages represent 22% of expenditures.

Official figures show that domestic tourism expenditures (DTI), at acquisition prices, stand at 17 471.7 million TND in 2025, of which 12 770.7 million TND (i.e., 73.1% of the total) are attributed to international or non-resident visitors.

The direct gross value added of tourism VABDT, or net income generated by the tourism industry would amount to 8 662.5 million TND, i.e., 5.4% of total VAB.

The direct gross domestic product PIBDT of the Tunisian tourism industry would stand at 8 935.3 million TND and its contribution to the national GDP would reach 5.2%.
