As part of targeted and ongoing security operations aimed at tracking dangerous and wanted criminal elements and combating all forms of crime, the brigades of the Gafsa Judicial Police and Metlaoui have, over the past two days, arrested two dangerous criminal individuals. The first was the subject of a final judicial sentence of 10 years in prison, while the second was at large in a case of premeditated murder with intent and complicity.
The Gafsa Judicial Police Brigade managed, in the morning of September 19, 2026, to arrest, following meticulous investigations into the movements of a dangerous criminal element, the suspect in the Bab Raml district. The individual is the subject of a definitive and irrevocable judicial conviction of 10 years in prison for attempted murder. He is also sought under six wanted notices for theft offenses, issued at the request of various security and judicial authorities.
For its part, the Metlaoui Judicial Police Brigade proceeded, on September 18, 2026, to the arrest of a dangerous criminal element who had been on the run since the date of the attempted murder with premeditation and complicity, following intelligence work and on-the-ground investigation conducted continuously.
The events date back to an intoxicated evening during which the victim was assaulted and injured in the neck and face with shards of glass from bottles. Initially, one of the involved suspects had been arrested and placed in the Gafsa Civil Prison, at the disposal of the examining judge responsible for the case.
The continuation of investigations and monitoring then allowed the security unit to locate the main suspect in a hair salon located in the Ennadhour neighborhood, in Metlaoui. Security forces surrounded the premises, searched the salon, and proceeded to arrest him.
The two suspects have been placed in custody and the necessary legal procedures have been initiated against them, in coordination with the public prosecutor’s office and the competent judicial authorities.
