The Minister of Education, Noureddine Nouri, stated on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, that his department is daily monitoring the latest preparations for the start of the school year, expressing hope that the new academic year will begin under “normal and serene overall” conditions.
The minister spoke during an inspection visit conducted in the governorate of Bizerte, dedicated to following the progress of the preparations for the 2026-2027 school year, according to the Tunisia Numérique correspondent in the region.
A daily follow-up on the preparations
Noureddine Nouri indicated that the ministry’s services continue to monitor the various aspects related to the preparation of the new school year.
He assured that in case of problems or difficulties, the concerned structures would intervene “with efficiency and speed” in order to provide the necessary solutions and remove the obstacles encountered.
The minister emphasized that the objective is to ensure the start of the new school year in the best possible conditions, while maintaining on-site monitoring of the different files related to the rentrée.
The El Jalaa High School project blocked since 2020
During his visit to Bizerte, the Minister of Education also returned to the El Jalaa High School project, which, according to his statements, had been blocked since 2020.
Noureddine Nouri explained that the various structures and parties concerned have worked during the elapsed period to restart the project and accelerate its progression.
Several structures mobilized to restart the project
The minister cited notably the central administration, the regional authorities, the Governor of Bizerte, the Regional Directorate of Equipment, as well as the Regional Education Commissariat.
According to him, the coordination among these different actors has allowed the El Jalaa High School project to move out of the category of “blocked projects” and to advance into the category of “completed projects.”
Noureddine Nouri’s visit to Bizerte is part of the ongoing monitoring of the preparation of educational establishments and the measures put in place to welcome students on the occasion of the 2026-2027 school year.
