A joint control campaign, organized this Thursday along the sandy coastline of Ras Angela, under the Bizerte South delegation, resulted in the seizure and removal of more than 32 parasols, 40 reed mats and posts, as well as a large number of wooden cabins illegally installed on the site, according to the official page of the governorate of Bizerte on Facebook.
The head of the regional branch of the Agency for Coastal Protection and Development in Bizerte, Maher Khasharem, indicated that this operation aimed to eliminate all forms of anarchic occupation of public spaces, as well as the oversteps committed by temporary operators in the area. It also led to the establishment of several offense reports against them.
The campaign was carried out by the Agency’s field control teams, in coordination and in collaboration with the services of the governorate of Bizerte, the delegation of Bizerte South, the municipality of Bizerte and the joint services of the Maritime Guard. This action falls within the framework of the national strategy aimed at deterring violators who occupy public spaces of beaches without authorization, or who exceed the areas allocated to them, according to the same source.
The head of the regional branch of the Agency for Coastal Protection and Development affirmed that these deterrent campaigns will continue throughout the season and across the entire coast of the region, similar to other sectoral control operations. He called on representatives of elected bodies, the organizational fabric, associations, media and civil society to support the efforts of the various state services and to engage with them through guidance and awareness.
