Reacting to the interventions of deputies during the plenary session on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, the Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, explained that the orientation adopted by the State rests on the use of debt to finance investment.
He stated that this was a prudent economic choice, likely to yield positive medium- and long-term results, notably in stimulating investment, creating jobs, and boosting economic activity.
In the same context, the minister indicated that the debt-to-GDP ratio stood at around 82 percent of gross domestic product, a level that has remained stable in recent years.
