Although scheduled from August 3 to 14, the European training camp of JS Kabylie has been canceled. The Canaries will ultimately continue their preparation in Tunisia for the 2026/2027 season.
The gathering in Slovenia will ultimately not take place. According to Compétition, the management of JS Kabylie renounced the trip because only one of the three desired friendly matches had been confirmed. Karim Belhocine demanded several quality opponents to evaluate his squad and establish his playing principles.
The second phase of preparation will therefore take place in Tunisia, a closer and simpler destination to organize. The leadership must now quickly find three competitive opponents. These matches will allow the new coach to integrate the recruits, test different systems and create the necessary automatisms.
A new cycle after a failed season
This setback comes after a very disappointing 2025-2026 season. Fifth with 45 points, 20 behind the champions MC Alger, JSK did not meet expectations. Its elimination in the group stage of the CAF Champions League and the technical instability confirmed the failure of that campaign.
A new cycle opens around Belhocine, his revamped staff and sporting director Yazid Mansouri. The objective now is to regain stability and to secure at least a qualification for an African competition in 2027-2028. The Tunisian training camp must lay the first foundations of this renewal.
