The composition of the Tunisian sports delegation summoned to participate in the Youth Olympic Games “Dakar 2026” has undergone some changes regarding the selections for beach volleyball and beach handball, announced this Wednesday by the Tunisian National Olympic Committee (CNOT).
According to the CNOT, the player Alaa Fahri will replace her teammate Israa Bouaziz within the Tunisian beach volleyball team. In beach handball, Jalloul Mohamed Cheddly and Youssef Souilem replace respectively Youssef Bousta and Bassem Marghli.
The Tunisian National Olympic Committee had previously announced that Tunisia would participate in this competition, held in the Senegalese capital Dakar from October 31 to November 13 next, with a delegation of 66 members, including 42 athletes, men and women, engaged in 16 sports.
The CNOT also specified that the first contingent of Tunisian athletes would fly to Dakar this Thursday. It will be composed of representatives from the following disciplines: judo, rowing, swimming, table tennis, beach volleyball, and wushu-kung-fu.
The Youth Olympic Games “Dakar 2026” will bring together nearly 2,700 athletes aged up to 17, who will compete in about twenty disciplines. This edition will mark a historic first for the African continent, which will thus host the first Olympic event held on its soil.
Note that judoka Ranim Ben Slimane and table tennis player Youssef Laïdli will have the honor of carrying the national flag during the opening ceremony. This will be the fourth edition of the Youth Olympic Games, created in 2010.
