The Primini E-commerce Barometer is an initiative of Primini.tn, a Tunisian price-comparison site.
Tunisie Numérique, as media partner, exclusively publishes the results of this monthly barometer, faithfully reflecting the online browsing trends of Tunisian internet users.
The collected data constitute independent content processed by Primini, with no financial compensation tied to the brands cited. These data do not constitute buying advice nor commercial recommendations.
For this monthly briefing, the search trends and the prices practiced on the Tunisian web have been scrutinized. The finding is unequivocal: for the same exact reference, prices from one retailer to another vary widely.
Tunis, June 2026, The heatwave has settled in and Tunisians are equipping themselves to endure the heat.
Good news for the wallet: in the summer basket, median prices remain flat. The real budget danger is no longer rising price tags, it’s the gap between retailers on a strictly identical product.
It ranges from 140 dinars for an entry-level refrigerator to 1,130 dinars for large high-end models; even for the Telefunken 341-liter combi, the most searched on Primini, it already reaches 190 dinars. And even for sunscreen, the summer reflex, comparing remains worthwhile.
What to remember
- For the same model, the gap between retailers ranges from 140 DT for an entry-level refrigerator to 1,130 DT for a large high-end model.
- The prices for cooling appliances (refrigerators, freezers) remain virtually stable: savings come from comparing the same model across different retailers.
- The brands most searched by Primini users (Telefunken, Whirlpool, LG, Samsung) are not the most represented in the catalog tracked.
- The summer consumer reflex: sunscreen, around 50 DT, driven by pharmacy brands.
Comparing the same reference from one retailer to another has become a budget necessity.
In June, cooling and sunscreen dominate searches
This second edition of the Primini × Tunisie Numérique Barometer focuses on two families that heat places at the heart of the summer basket: the duo refrigerators and freezers, and sun protection. Air conditioning and televisions, already analyzed in the spring edition, are not detailed here, even if we take one last look further ahead. The principle of the barometer is simple: cross the prices shown with the actual consultations of internet users on Primini, i.e., their purchase intent, based on a dataset unique to price comparison sites.
This cross-check reveals the gap between what internet users actually consult and what the catalogs highlight.
Refrigerators and freezers: the gap widens with the budget
The cold represents the largest average ticket in the summer basket, followed by Primini. Keeping fresh products becomes a priority, and freezers benefit from the home-canning season. Prices, for their part, remain among the most stable in the market: the median variation of the category is 0.03%, and nearly three-quarters of models have not moved. The entry-level is around 650 DT for a refrigerator or a vertical freezer, and the No Frost combo most searched on Primini, a Telefunken 341 liters, is listed from 1,399 DT. Large capacities, side-by-side and Inverter versions, rise to 4,000 DT and beyond.
The gap between retailers exists at all budgets. On an entry-level refrigerator like the Mont Blanc 230 liters, it already reaches 140 DT, 649 to 789 DT depending on the retailer; on the very high end, it reaches more than 1,100 DT on a large LG side-by-side, the detail listed below. At the category level, anticipate about 170 DT median difference for the same model, i.e., a significant potential saving on a domestic purchase. It is by comparing the price of the same reference from one site to another, under comparable conditions (warranty, availability, delivery), that you recover the most money.
On the demand side, the gap is clear between the brands Primini users search for and those that fill the most the catalog tracked. Telefunken tops searches on Primini, ahead of Whirlpool, LG and Samsung, all more sought after than their weight in the catalog would suggest. Conversely, several entry-level brands occupy a large share of the catalog without meeting the same demand. For the buyer, this is information to exploit: it is better to filter by the desired brand than let what appears first dictate your choice.
The entry-level drives the shop. The most viewed product this month in the cold category is not a large high-end refrigerator but a modest 100-liter Acer vertical freezer, closely followed by the Mont Blanc 230-liter refrigerator: two entry-level references that can be found from around 650 DT. The freezer rides its logical summer peak: we stock bulk groceries, prepare our ice cubes and provisions to withstand the heat. On these entry tickets, the retailer gap ranges in tens of dinars, while it reaches hundreds for the high end, but the right move remains: check the price of the same model at two or three retailers.
From accessible entry-level to branded high-end, refrigeration sums up the bargaining of Tunisian households: first ensure the essentials, then go bigger and better guaranteed when the budget allows.
Sun protection, the real summer reflex:
Far from large appliances, a very small ticket nonetheless stands out as one of the most consulted products of the summer on Primini:
In terms of consultation, it even outruns many high-tech products. Searches focus heavily on SPF 50+, and demand centers on pharmacy brands: SVR, Avène, Daylong, La Roche-Posay and Eucerin are among the most searched.
Budget-wise, most sunscreens hover around 50 DT, from 34 DT for accessible formats to over 100 DT for premium liposomal milks.
Even on this small ticket, comparing remains worthwhile, including for the most demanded premium formats. On the Daylong Extreme SPF 50+ 200 ml, the most sought-after premium sunscreen on Primini at the moment, the price ranges from 102 to 123 DT depending on the parapharmacy, i.e., more than 20 DT apart for exactly the same bottle. On a product that the whole family uses throughout the summer, the bill quickly adds up.
The principle remains the same as for large appliances: don’t take the first bottle you see without comparing.

Easter eggs from spring?
On Primini, demand for air conditioners has more than doubled with the heatwave and televisions have risen by about 40%, both at prices that are nearly stable for the month. Even when demand intensifies, the label does not follow: once again, it all comes down to the gap between retailers.
Gaps across all budgets, on the same exact model:
From sunscreen to the large refrigerator, the gap between retailers exists at every price tier.
Among five highly consulted models, tracked mid-June and confirmed by several offers, it ranges from 21 DT for Daylong Extreme 200 ml sunscreen (102 to 123 DT) to 1,130 DT for the LG side-by-side 617-liter refrigerator (7,449 to 8,579 DT). Between them: 140 DT for the Mont Blanc 230 liters (649 to 789 DT), 190 DT for the Telefunken 341 liters combi (1,399 to 1,589 DT) and 860 DT for the Beko 700 liters (3,299 to 4,159 DT).
All these gaps refer to the same exact reference, excluding delivery charges, and subject to availability and the conditions of each retailer.
Primini recommendations for the summer:
Before any purchase, a few useful checks drawn from this month’s data:
- Compare the exact same model: Check the full reference, the capacity in liters and the No Frost function for cooling appliances. For the same product, the gap between retailers often exceeds the gap between two competing brands.
- Include delivery in the listed price: A shipping fee can erase an apparent difference, especially for large appliances.
- Check real availability: directly with the retailer before you go.
- Check price history on each Primini.tn page to distinguish a true promotion from an inflated price that is then crossed out.
- Check the compressor warranty on cooling models: it reaches ten years according to manufacturers on some Inverter models, a real durability argument for a purchase kept for a long time.
Conclusion: a hot summer in heat, not in price tags
The June signal is rare and welcome for Tunisian purchasing power. The heatwave has boosted demand for cooling appliances, but prices remained flat across the entire summer basket. The real budget lever is in the gap between retailers: from 140 DT for an entry-level refrigerator to more than 1,100 DT for a large model, for the same exact product. Comparing several offers for the same reference remains the most impactful move before buying.
