FIFA World Rankings: Tunisia 61st, Still Outside Africa’s New Top 10

The African hierarchy has undergone several movements after the last international window. In the FIFA ranking officially updated this Wednesday, October 7, 2026, Tunisia has again dropped 4 places from the previous ranking. The Carthage Eagles now occupy the 61st worldwide rank

The Atlas Lions have retained their first place on the continent but now rank 7th globally with 1805.34 points. They are well ahead of Senegal, 18th in the world with 1648.84 points, while Egypt completes the African podium in 25th place globally.

The Mali and South Africa gain six places

The strongest progressions in the African Top 10 are credited to Mali and South Africa. Both teams gain six positions each. The Mali Eagles rise to the 47th worldwide rank with 1474.14 points, just ahead of the Bafana Bafana, 48th with 1468.88 points.

Also, DR Congo has advanced by one position and is now 40th in the world, just as Cameroon has gained one rank to reach the 42nd place.

7- DR Congo : 40th in the world – 1506.37 points
8- Cameroon : 42nd in the world – 1485.30 points
9- Mali : 47th in the world – 1474.14 points
10- South Africa : 48th in the world – 1468.88 points
