As part of ongoing security efforts to combat drug trafficking and dismantle organized criminal networks, the agents of the Central Narcotics Suppression Brigade in Ben Arous, under the Directorate of Judicial Affairs, have succeeded in dismantling an active drug trafficking network in the Mahdia region.
The operation, according to a statement released Sunday evening by the General Directorate of the National Guard, led to the arrest of five members of the network, aged 24 to 66. Security units also seized about 2 kg of a white powder suspected to be cocaine, as well as an electronic scale, a quantity of jewelry, two luxury cars, three motorcycles and an amount of money believed to have derived from the criminal activity.
Following consultation, the public prosecutor’s office ordered the suspects to be placed in custody, while issuing wanted notices for two other individuals.
