The Comorian international winger Rafiki Saïd has officially signed with Wolverhampton Wanderers FC from Standard Liège.
He thus becomes the most expensive Comorian player in history, with a transfer estimated at around €10 million. He signed a three-year contract, with an additional optional year.
An excellent reward after a successful season
Having joined Standard last summer after his spell with ESTAC Troyes, Rafiki Saïd quickly impressed in Belgium. In 38 appearances across all competitions, he scored 8 goals and provided 5 assists, confirming his profile as an explosive winger capable of making a difference in one-on-one situations.
His performances attracted the attention of several clubs before convincing Wolverhampton to back him to strengthen their attacking sector.
Coach Cesar Peixoto welcomed the arrival, highlighting the speed, power and technical qualities of the Comorian player.
“Rafiki is a fast player, with great qualities in duels. He possesses the mentality I am looking for in the team,” the coach explained.
Having previously played in France, Belgium and several European clubs, Rafiki Saïd now discovers the English scene with the ambition to continue his development and to write the history of the Wolves.
