During the first eight months of 2026, the European Union remains Tunisia’s main trading partner, with France, Italy, and Germany among the leading European markets. Trade with Arab countries is particularly marked by relations with Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Libya, and Morocco. Outside the European Union, China, Turkey, India, Russia, and the United Kingdom are among Tunisia’s main partners.
Tunisia’s exports to the European Union during the first eight months of 2026 (70.2% of total exports) reached a value of 31,346.4 MD compared with 29,165.9 MD during the same period in 2025.
Exports are rising with France (+3.4%), with Italy (+5.2%) and with Germany (+2.1%). Conversely, they have fallen with certain European partners, including Greece (-19.9%) and Malta (-10.8%).
Towards Arab countries, exports have increased with Egypt (+76.6%) and with Saudi Arabia (+50.4). Conversely, they have declined with Morocco (-25.1%), with Algeria (-13.1%) and with Libya (-1.1).

Regarding imports with the European Union (45.1% of total imports), they reached a value of 28,175 MD compared with 24,410.1 MD during the first eight months of 2025. Imports increased with France (+17%) and with Italy (+16.7%). Conversely they decreased with Bulgaria (-8.6%) and with Portugal (-12%).
Outside the European Union, imports increased with Turkey (+8.1%), with India (+4.2%) and with China (+6.1%). Conversely they recorded a decrease with Russia (-51%) and with the United Kingdom (-22%).
