Sanofi Launches Mobile Awareness Caravan in Tunisia to Address Pain Management
In Tunisia, on March 9, 2024, Sanofi has initiated a mobile awareness campaign focused on pain management. Running from March 9th through March 22nd, this traveling caravan will cover twelve cities across the country: Tunis, Ariana, Ben Arous, Bizerte, Zaghouan, Beja, Jendouba, Nabeul, Sousse, Monastir, Sfax, and Gabès.
This third edition of Sanofi’s mobile outreach effort bears the slogan: “رأس وجيعة غير من حياتك عيش فيق” — translated as “Wake up and live your life without headaches.” The campaign aims to draw attention to the significance of recognizing and properly managing pain, emphasizing the importance of taking appropriate action to improve quality of life.
Raising Awareness About Pain and Its Effects
Many citizens in Tunisia, similar to populations worldwide, report “enduring a certain type of pain,” which points to living with discomfort without receiving adequate treatment. According to a digital survey conducted by Sanofi, about 70% of people with pain do not seek medical advice or assistance. Proper pain management not only alleviates the physical symptoms but also has a positive impact on mental and emotional well-being.
Pain is a deeply personal experience that can be influenced by various factors, including emotional states, mood, and even genetics. These factors can lead to psychological and behavioral consequences beyond the physical sensation. Individuals experience different types of pain, such as headaches, migraines, backaches, neck and shoulder pain, menstrual cramps, abdominal discomfort, dental pain, earaches, muscle soreness, joint and nerve pain, as well as symptoms related to fever, colds, the flu, sore throats, and other ailments.
Sanofi’s Commitment to Pain Relief
Having recognized that solutions exist, Sanofi has been committed for over 50 years to relieving pain and enhancing patients’ everyday living conditions through appropriate therapies. The company believes that effective pain management can significantly improve quality of life and aims to offer targeted treatment options.
John Pulvar, General Manager of Sanofi in the North West, comments: “Beyond our therapeutic solutions, we are actively involved in partnerships with healthcare professionals and patient associations to implement impactful initiatives that optimize pain management in Tunisia. This traveling caravan is a part of that ongoing effort, aiming to encourage people to describe and recognize their pain more openly, making it easier to identify and treat.”
Sanofi’s Broader Mission and Local Production
Historically, Sanofi has placed a major focus on combatting pain and promoting daily well-being. The company provides a range of therapeutic solutions designed specifically to ease various types of discomfort. Its manufacturing plant in Megrine plays a crucial role in ensuring a steady supply of pain relief medications. In 2024, approximately 35 million units are planned for production, of which 44% are destined for export to several sub-Saharan countries, including Senegal, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Gabon, Cameroon, Mauritius, Madagascar, Congo, Kenya, Chad, Togo, Mauritania, Djibouti, Niger, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
An Ongoing Effort to Improve Pain Management in Tunisia
This awareness caravan represents Sanofi’s ongoing dedication to advancing pain management across Tunisia. As a healthcare partner, Sanofi encourages patients to take an active role in managing their health—a concept known as “self-care.” By empowering individuals with knowledge and resources, the company hopes to foster a proactive approach to health and well-being.
Everyone is invited to participate in this educational initiative, aiming to shed light on the importance of recognizing pain early and seeking appropriate care. Together, through collective effort and awareness, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of many people suffering from pain every day.
