The head of the water quality control department at the Ghdir El Golla complex, part of the National Company for Water Exploitation and Distribution (SONEDE), Fayçal Naïmi, stated that the company continually ensures the quality of the distributed water as well as its compliance with consumption standards.
He specified that SONEDE relies, for water quality control, on an integrated network of laboratories, in addition to partnerships with the Institute of Agriculture and the Ministry of Health, in order to ensure the broadest possible monitoring coverage.
A non-conformity rate limited to 1.6%
Fayçal Naïmi stressed that the analyses conducted show a high level of compliance with current standards. In 2025, the rate of samples deemed non-conforming stood at 1.6%, out of a total of 58,661 samples analyzed.
He recalled that Tunisian standards allow a non-conformity rate of up to 5%, according to his statements.
These data, according to the official, reflect the efforts made to ensure regular monitoring of water quality and guarantee its compliance with health requirements.
