Ministries of Tourism and Higher Education and Scientific Research announced, in a joint press release published this Monday, the organization of a national competition open to students enrolled in public and private universities, with the aim of designing the logo and the visual identity of the program “Tunis, Capital of Arab Tourism 2027.”

This initiative is part of the preparations for the regional event “Tunis, Capital of Arab Tourism 2027,” which requires the launch of an integrated promotional campaign based on a unified visual identity, reflecting the characteristics of the Tunisian destination and strengthening its impact at the Arab and international levels. In this context, the competition aims to create an official logo as well as a complete visual charter guaranteeing the harmonization of all communication materials.

Financial prizes have been planned for the winners: 4,000 dinars for the first prize, 3,000 dinars for the second, and 2,000 dinars for the third. The winning project will, moreover, be adopted as the official identity of the campaign and will benefit from media visibility at national and international levels.

Online registrations will open on April 9, 2026 via the platform httpss://forms.gle/EnS5xUuN5JceAzPk6. The deadline for submitting applications has been set for April 19, 2026, with complete dossiers to be sent by email to the following address: [email protected].

Applicants must be regularly enrolled in the current academic year. Participation is allowed either individually or in teams of up to two students. Submitted works must be original, unpublished, not copied or inspired by earlier creations, and must not have undergone any commercial exploitation. In the event of victory, participants undertake to cede the patrimonial rights of the project to the Ministry of Tourism, while preserving their moral rights.

The expected projects must include several components, notably the design of an official logo in multiple formats (color and monochrome), the development of a visual charter including colors, typography, and usage rules, as well as a global visual proposal usable across different media, from digital platforms to tourist spaces, including means of transport and promotional supports. It is also required to present this identity in three languages: Arabic, French, and English.

The press release specifies that any incomplete file or submission received after the deadline will be rejected. The results of the first phase will be announced on April 23, with the selection of only five projects to proceed to the final phase.

The competition will continue with the organization of a hackathon on May 1–2, 2026 in the Sidi Dharef area of Tunis, where the selected candidates will benefit from guidance from experts in design, in communication and in tourism in order to refine their proposals.

This process will conclude on May 2 with the presentation of the projects before the jury, followed by deliberations and the announcement of the top three winners. The winning project will then be adopted as the official visual identity of the program “Tunis, Capital of Arab Tourism 2027”.
