Tunisia will participate in the African Championship of artistic gymnastics for seniors and juniors (boys and girls), which will be held in the Cameroonian capital Yaoundé from April 21 to 27 this year, with a delegation of seven athletes, said Lotfi Chelli, president of the managing body of the Tunisian Gymnastics Federation, to the Tunis Africa Presse Agency (TAP) on Tuesday.

Chelli specified that the Tunisian squad, which will depart on April 20 to take part in this continental competition, will be composed of junior Taha Khalil, along with the trio of junior girls formed by Mariem Fkih, Linda Ben Gharbal and Dina Safdi. For the seniors, Tunisia will be represented by Mouatamen Bellah Jelassi, Ahmed Abidi and Loay Saheli.

He also indicated that the trainer Wissam Harzi will oversee the women’s team, while the trainer Mohamed Neffati will head the men’s team. He added that Tunisian participation in this event will also be marked by the presence of two international judges, Chahd Sakr and Habib Mira.

It should be recalled that Tunisian gymnastics will also take part in the Africa Championship of rhythmic gymnastics, scheduled from April 30 to May 2 in the city of Shouini, in South Africa.

Tunisia will also participate in the Africa Championship of trampoline, in the same city, on May 5 and 6.
