The volume of trade between Tunisia and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reached approximately 1,143.6 million dinars in 2025, of which 276.2 million dinars were Tunisian exports.

The prospects for bilateral cooperation are deemed promising, with real possibilities to strengthen the presence of Tunisian exports on the Saudi market, according to data from the Export Promotion Center.

This performance is part of a shared will to consolidate bilateral relations and diversify the areas of exchange, notably in high value-added sectors, including the agro-food industries, mechanical industries and the services sector, as well as the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, which are drawing growing interest.

In this context, a delegation from the Saudi company “Taghreed International Limited,” led by its Chief Executive Officer, Mazen Abderrahmane Al-Bashar, is visiting Tunisia from April 22 to 25 to explore partnership opportunities with Tunisian manufacturers and exporters in the field of pharmaceutical industries and medical devices.

This visit is part of the follow-up to the recommendations of the Tunisian-Saudi Investment and Partnership Forum held in Riyadh in December 2025.

The mission aims to intensify coordination with Tunisian companies active in the pharmaceutical industries and medical devices sector, and to examine possibilities to support their exports to the Saudi market, in order to strengthen cooperation and investment prospects between the two sides.

The program of the visit includes a working session with representatives of the Ministry of Trade and Export Development, as well as a meeting at the headquarters of the Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts, in the presence of representatives from the Ministry of Health, the National Agency for Medicines and Health Products, the National Health Federation, the National Chamber of the Pharmaceutical Industry, as well as representatives of veterinary medicine laboratories under UTICA.

The program also provides field visits to several Tunisian companies specialized in the medicines and medical devices sector, in order to assess their production capacities, their compliance with international standards, as well as the regulatory frameworks in force for exporting medicines to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
