The Minister of Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, announced that the value of external resources mobilized to date has reached 49 billion dinars.
These financings take the form of loans, grants, lines of credit and budget support programs. They are intended to fund several programs and projects currently being implemented nationwide.
This statement was made during a plenary dialogue session held this Thursday at the National Council of Regions and Districts, dedicated to examining several economic and development dossiers.
Increase in disbursement rate to 48%
Samir Abdelhafidh indicated that the disbursement rate of these external financings progressed during the first quarter of 2026, to reach 48%, compared with 37% during the same period of the previous year.
According to the minister, these resources are directed toward contributing to the realization of public and private projects in several economic and social sectors, notably agriculture, water resources, infrastructure, energy and the environment.
The minister stressed that these financings are part of the support for ongoing national programs and projects, with the aim of accelerating the pace of investment and improving the execution of projects planned in the different regions.
These external resources also reflect the importance of financial and economic partnerships in supporting development efforts, particularly in priority sectors directly related to the needs of the national economy.
Tunisia will host an international forum on aeronautics and aerospace
Furthermore, Samir Abdelhafidh indicated that organizing in Tunisia the fifth edition of the International Business Forum dedicated to the aeronautics and aerospace sector, from July 7 to 9, 2026, is part of efforts to support investment and improve the business climate.
The forum will be held this year under the theme: “Tunisia 2026: Industrial Ambition and Aeronautical Rise.”
It aims to highlight investment opportunities in the manufacturing of aeronautical components, to discuss current challenges in the sector, and to strengthen cooperation among the various stakeholders.
A platform for partnerships and innovation
The minister explained that this event will help consolidate ties between public institutions, private companies, and international partners.
It will also contribute to supporting innovation and modern technologies in the aeronautics and aerospace sector, while promoting the creation of sustainable networks of communication among economic actors.
The objective is to facilitate the exchange of expertise and the establishment of strategic partnerships capable of strengthening Tunisia’s position in global supply chains.
Consolidating Tunisia’s position in the aeronautics industries
This economic event, regarded as one of the most important of its kind in the region, constitutes an international platform dedicated to the development and strengthening of supply chains in the aeronautics industry.
It also aims to consolidate Tunisia’s place as a strategic and competitive destination on the global map of the aeronautics and aerospace industries.
Improving economic indicators
The Minister of Economy and Planning also spoke of an improvement in several economic indicators over the past five years, notably in inflation control and growth.
He specified that the growth rate reached 2.5% in 2025, compared with 1.5% in 2024 and 0.4% in 2023, noting that these figures reflect a gradual improvement in the economic situation.
