This Tuesday, April 14, the UN Deputy Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fletcher, announced some bad news! Nearly 700 civilians have been killed by drone strikes since January 2026, in the war that is afflicting Sudan.

The statement from Tom Fletcher, arriving as the conflict is about to enter its fourth year, reads: “During the first three months of this year, nearly 700 civilians were killed in drone strikes.”

The same source notes that the “dark anniversary” of the conflict, which began on April 15, 2023, “marks another year in which the international community has failed in its mission amid the Sudan crisis.”

La même source estime que le « sombre anniversaire » du conflit qui a éclaté le 15 avril 2023 « marque une année de plus où la communauté internationale a failli à sa mission face à la crise soudanaise ».
