Water Resources in Beja: Debate on Water Governance and Sustainable Agriculture (Video)

The Beja Governorate will host on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, an information day dedicated to water governance for sustainable agriculture, organized at the Medjez el Bab Higher School of Engineers.

A scientific meeting focused on water resources management

In a statement to the correspondent of Tunisie Numérique, Sofiane Rezgui, deputy director at the Béja Regional Union of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries, indicated that this day aims to offer a series of scientific interventions and debates focusing on water resources management and the means to strengthen sustainable agriculture.

Experts and professionals mobilized

According to Sofiane Rezgui, the meeting will bring together university faculty specializing in water resources, as well as representatives of the Agriculture Union. The discussions will notably address the importance of water governance, best practices in exploitation, and solutions enabling the optimization of water resource use in support of a more resilient local agriculture.

Awareness and sustainability at the heart of regional priorities

This event is part of the efforts undertaken by the Beja Governorate to reinforce awareness of the strategic value of water, support the development of sustainable agriculture, and ensure the long-term viability of agricultural production, while safeguarding the environment.
