Weather Alert: Thunderstorms With Heavy Rain Expected From Thursday

The weather outlook will be favorable, starting from tomorrow afternoon, Thursday, September 17, 2026, for temporarily stormy rainfall in the western regions of Tunisia.

These precipitations will gradually extend to the eastern regions of the country and may be locally heavy, notably in the governorates of Siliana, Kairouan, Mahdia, Monastir, Sousse, Zaghouan and Nabeul.

The most significant rainfall amounts are expected to range between 20 and 40 millimeters, with accumulations locally reaching 60 millimeters.

Risk of hail and strong winds

This situation will also be accompanied by hail and strong winds, particularly as the thunderstorm cells pass.

Therefore, vigilance is recommended, especially in areas likely to record substantial rainfall in a short period of time.

Rain will continue Friday and Saturday

Precipitation is expected to continue during the days of Friday 18 and Saturday 19 September 2026 across most regions of the country.

They will sometimes be heavy, notably in the western parts of the North and Central regions as well as along the eastern coasts.
