Tunisia: Cash in Circulation Reaches 26.876 Billion Dinars in 2025

The volume of banknotes and coins in circulation in Tunisia continued to rise in 2025, reaching 26.876 billion dinars at the end of December, compared with 22.594 billion dinars at the end of December 2024, according to the report of the Central Bank of Tunisia.

Cash in circulation thus increased by 4.282 billion dinars over the year. Banknotes remain largely dominant, accounting for nearly 98% of the total money in circulation.

The report also highlights an acceleration in the growth rate, with a rise of 19% between end-December 2024 and end-December 2025, compared with 8.4% between end-December 2023 and end-December 2024.
