Stock Market Week: Tunindex Continues Its Rise

As in the previous week, the Tunis Stock Exchange displayed an overtly bullish trend for the week of May 4-8. The reference index advanced 2.9% to 16,525.74 points, thus bringing its year-to-date performance to 22.3%.

The week saw block trades involving 350,000 TELNET shares at a unit price of 10 dinars (D), for a total value of 3.5 million dinars (MD).

The volumes were relatively solid over the past week. A turnover of 62 MD was traded on the market.

Stock performance

The BTE stock stood out during the past week by taking the crown of gains. Without any transactions, the share surged by 18.7% to 7.120 D.

The STA share ended the week on a positive note. It traded a solid 17.6% gain over the past week. Finishing at 73.500 D, the stock drew weekly turnover of 2.5 MD.

The STIP issue posted the weakest performance of the week. In a very small turnover of 6 thousand dinars, the share declined by 18.1% to 9.830 D.

The OFFICE PLAST value also trended poorly over the week. The stock fell 6.1% to 1.690 D. It traded to the tune of 183 thousand dinars over the week.

The SOTUVER stock topped the volume chart. The stock appreciated 11.2% to 26.690 D, fueling the market with capital of 6.2 MD.

BH BANK – The bank announced in a press release addressed to candidates interested in applying for the position of independent director “PRESIDENT RISK COMMITTEE,” that the submission deadline, initially set for May 5, 2026, has been extended to May 25, 2026 before the closing of the Central Order Office. The stamp of the Central Order Office will be binding. Other participation conditions and modalities remain unchanged.

SOTRAPIL – The board of directors, meeting on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, approved the company’s activity report and the financial statements for the year 2025. It shows that the company achieved a net profit of about 9.5 MD for 2025 versus 8.9 MD as of 12/31/2024, i.e., an increase of 6.56%.

The board decided to convene the ordinary general meeting to be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. It also proposed the distribution of a dividend of 1.650 dinars per share.

SIPHAT – Revenue for the first quarter of 2026 recorded a decline of 7% compared with 2025. The revenue of the pharmaceutical form rose from 96 018 D in Q1 2025 to 981 903 D. The production value for Q1 2026 rose from 1 188 425 D in Q1 2025 to 2 653 123 D.

The indebtedness for Q1 2026 rose by 17% compared to Q1 2025. The company is in the process of preparing a restructuring project to salvage the situation based on a strategic reorganization aimed at ensuring sustainability, competitiveness and overcoming the crisis.

TUNISAIR – The transport revenues recorded by the national carrier rose by 5.4%, to reach 314 MD, during the first quarter of 2026, according to the company’s activity indicators.

This increase is explained by the growth in the number of passengers transported, across all activities, by 9% compared with the same period of 2025, surpassing 540 thousand travelers. Consequently, the total number of flight hours increased by 4%, from 11,681 hours as of end-March 2025 to 12,103 hours as of end-March 2026.

As for the load factor, it also improved to reach 75.8% during the first quarter of 2026, compared with 74.3% a year earlier, a gain of 1.5 percentage points.
