US-Iran Peace Deal: Strait of Hormuz to Reopen After Signing

The Pakistani prime minister announced on Sunday, June 14, 2026, in the evening, that the United States and Iran have reached a peace agreement.

The official signing ceremony of this agreement will take place on Friday, June 19, in Switzerland, according to the Pakistani mediator.

The protocol of agreement concluded in the night from Sunday to Monday between Iran and the United States opens the way to talks within 60 days with a view to a final agreement, according to the Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister.

« The negotiations will begin within 60 days in order to reach a definitive agreement», Kazem Gharibabadi told state television, adding, however, that «the mistrust persisted» toward the United States.

In the wake of this, Donald Trump announced the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz planned after the signing of the agreement, as well as the lifting
