The Assembly of the People’s Representatives approved, this Friday, July 10, 2026, the development plan project covering the 2026-2030 period, following a vote held in plenary session.
Adoption by 64 votes
The development plan project received the favorable votes of 64 deputies.
During the same vote, 15 members of parliament abstained, while 24 deputies voted against the text.
These results enabled the adoption of the 2026-2030 development plan by the Assembly of the People’s Representatives.
A vote after the responses of the Minister of Economy
The vote took place after the examination of the project by the deputies and the responses provided by the Minister of the Economy and Planning, Samir Abdelhafidh, to the questions and observations raised during the plenary session.
The minister had notably stressed that the success of the plan required mobilizing all national energies and constituted a shared responsibility among the different actors.
The economic and social priorities for the next five years
The 2026-2030 development plan must set the main economic, social, and territorial orientations of Tunisia for the next five years.
It covers in particular the development projects and programs planned at local, regional, inter-district, and national levels.
According to the orientations presented by the government, the plan aims to establish a more just and sustainable economic and social model, to improve the quality of life of citizens, to reinforce the competitiveness of the Tunisian economy, and to reduce disparities between the different regions of the country.
